How I Became a Makeup Artist...

Published over 2 years ago • 2 min read

Hey Reader!

Let's talk a little bit about the real journey of a Freelance Makeup artist.

I have always loved Makeup since I was a little girl.

When I was 15 years old, I was that girl who did the Makeup for all my family and friends.

I also started to save money and bought myself my first high-end eyeshadow palette and makeup brushes set.

Years later, I decided to do Makeup professionally (because literally, I was already doing it so often but without charging), so I started the same way as almost all the makeup pros start.

Self-taught.

I began to practice with almost everyone that let me do their Makeup and also practice on myself, trying techniques and trends (sometimes without having success).

I remember those days when I made a total mess on some "clients."

Luckily those "clients" were my friends or family members. Then I got to an Intensive Makeup course and got my Makeup Certification.

And one lesson I learned that changed my Freelance Makeup journey completely was the importance of the solids of makeup and not only focusing on the "new trends".

For solids of makeup I mean the theory of color, face shapes, eye shapes, how to do it professionally, and more things that you don't get in "self-taught" school.

And THOSE THINGS make you able to get updated with any upcoming makeup trend easily.

From there, I practiced until I felt confident to work with real clients.

I got my firsts Freelance clients and even worked in a professional beauty salon being the makeup girl.

(You get TONS of experience working with different skin tones, skin types, face shapes, eye shapes, and even different personalities when working on a very concurrent beauty salon!)

Building my business from zero to being able get perfect skin on the most challenging skins has been a rollercoaster and a fantastic journey.

The most rewarded part of this is having those amazing women thanking me after seeing themselves in the mirror after a makeup session.

And, of course, getting paid for doing what I love is just a dream come true!

My plan is to share what I've learned (and keep learning because Makeup is constantly changing!) with others.

Whether you are starting with Makeup and want to know the very basics, or you are a Freelance Makeup artist trying to achieve higher goals.

And that's what my next Master Makeup Program will touch, aside from my quick-wins makeup guide eBook, the program will focus more on the professional side of Makeup

And will be an easy way to get certified without spending thousands and thousands of dollars.

So everyone that has the right mindset can start doing Freelance Makeup the right way!

The Program is not available yet, but if you are interested, CLICK HERE to join the Waitlist so as soon as the Program is out, I'll notify you.
